Recalibrating battery on an android device WITHOUT ROOT!

The battery behavior of your device can tell you if the battery needs some recalibrating or not. If your device charges slowly compared to as it used to or the battery is draining faster than normal, you need to recalibrate the battery of your android device. It is a bit time consuming process but really easy. The problems with the battery can also be physical damage and do check whether your battery have swelled up or not. In that case find a replacement or take it to the service centers to get a battery replaced. Getting an authorized battery is usually less headache in the long run.

And please refrain from recalibrating the battery in short periods of time as the battery may get damaged. No more than once in two months is recommended.

Now let’s see how it is done, shall we?

  • Discharge your device until it automatically turns off.
  • Plug your charger in and let the device get fully charged without turning it on.
  • Let it charge until it is 100% charged and you get the fully charged notification.
  • Unplug your charger.
  • Turn on your device. If it still says 100% charged then there is nothing wrong with the battery.
  • On the other hand, if the battery level after turning it on is less than 100% then plug in your charger again(leave your device on) and let it get fully charged.
  • Continue charging until fully charged.
  • Restart your device. If the battery level is still not at 100% plug in your charger again and charge till it says 100% charged on the screen.
  • Repeat this process until it says 100% charged when you start up your device without plugging in the charger.
  • Now that the phone is fully charged, let it drain down to 0% and automatically turn off.
  • Let your device get fully charged once again.
  • Done! You are now done recalibrating your android device’s battery.

Reminder: Please only do this when really necessary as recalibrating involves draining your battery to zero and it can have a negative impact on the battery condition.
