Losing important contacts just like loosing your phone can be a nightmare, but thanks to a not so know feature in Gmail the lost contacts can be recovered. How? Let’s see.
When you add contacts in your Android device using a google service, they are synced up with the online servers.
You can restore any deleted contacts in the past 30 days and Chat contacts from the last 24 hours.
To recover these lost contacts you need to log onto your Gmail account using a laptop or a computer. After logging into the web version of your Gmail account, click on the word “Gmail” on the left hand corner. A drop down menu will appear from which “Contacts” is to be selected.
Now you’ll see a list of all contacts including a frequently contacted list.
On the left hand side there will be a list of options. Click on More, which will give you a bunch of more options. From these, select “Restore Contacts” option, upon which a pop-up box will appear giving you the choice to roll back to an hour, a day, a week, etc.
So, choose a point when your device still had all of the missing data and click on “Restore”.
Done! You’ll find that all your lost contacts are back in your device.
